Richard Sherman

Marcus Trufant

Played cornerback for the Seahawks, 2003-12

Richard Sherman on Marcus Trufant:

"He was just a pro’s pro. He knew how to play the game, he knew how to study the game, he knew how to prepare, he knew how to take care of his body. He was open to teaching other guys. He was just that perfect guy to help a young guy coming into the game."

Shawn Springs

Played cornerback for the Seahawks, 1997-2003

Marcus Trufant on Shawn Springs:

"He was the guy when I got here. A top draft pick and he’d played at a high level during his pro career. I saw how he paid attention to the smallest detail on film study. As a young pro, I saw it took more than just being the biggest, fastest or strongest."

Joey Galloway

Played wide receiver for the Seahawks, 1995-99

Shawn Springs on Joey Galloway:

"He was so strong and fast and athletic and the way he went about practicing was amazing. I was just like, ‘I want to work like that.’ He was the one guy that I played with that I can put my hand on and say, ‘That dude made me better.’ I’ve got greats guys like Eddie George, Orlando Pace, Mike Vrabel and my dad played for the Cowboys. But Joey was the guy. He challenged me and took me to another level."

Brian Blades

Played wide receiver for the Seahawks, 1989-98

Joey Galloway on Brian Blades:

"I was a rookie, and at the time he was the veteran receiver and the leader of the room. I’m from Ohio and I went to Ohio State, and then I went all the way across the country to Seattle. Being at work every day, being on time every day, practicing every day no matter how you feel: Those are the things I learned from Brian. He broke his finger one day, bone coming out of the skin, and taped it up and kept practicing. You’re a young kid, and here’s a veteran doing those kinds of things. That stuff was key."

John L. Williams

Played fullback for the Seahawks, 1986-93

Brian Blades on John L. Williams:

"He was my first roommate my first training camp. He was the one who guided me in the right direction as far as being a pro. He was the one who took a kid who was the first time away from home and took him under his wings. When things got tough, we sat in the dorm room and he told me things would get easier. First time away from home and being so far away, he was pretty much the person I could talk to and lean on."

Curt Warner

Played running back for the Seahawks, 1983-89

John L. Williams on Curt Warner:

"When I first came to Seattle, he was the one who guided me and invited him into his house. He showed me how to live life with professional football. The balance of the two. Coming from nothing and all of a sudden I went into all this money, I didn’t know what to do or how to do it. And he was the one who showed me how to do it."

Dave Brown

Played cornerback for the Seahawks, 1976-86

Curt Warner on Dave Brown:

"He taught me how to be a pro. You could always count on him. You knew he was going to do his job, and he didn’t waver from what he was doing. He was a veteran, a role model. And he harassed me the whole time as a rookie; not harassed me, but he was always saying, ‘Hey rook this, hey rook that.’ I didn’t like Dave Brown my first year. But I respected him, and we became very good friends."
