Voters in King County and Seattle in particular strongly opposed Tim Eyman’s latest $30 car-tab initiative. A majority of those subject to the highest car-tab taxes to fund Sound Transit rejected the measure, signaling a desire to fund mass transit. But the tax-cutting measure was popular in Snohomish and Pierce counties, especially in areas that have not yet seen major direct light-rail benefits.
